Want To Be A Star?

Humans sell everything and anything nowadays. As long you have the money, you can get anything (superficial). Human Products is a term i invented for the rising number of “artists” who are marketed by record labels into an “image” that people would “purchase”. It can also mean selling of one’s body (in a sick and twisted way).

Many teenagers nowadays would like to be a star. They can get all the attention from the press, makeovers into plastic figurines and a wealth of income from endorsement deals. However, they do not know what they are getting themselves into. They will lose all their privacy, their social life will be under strict scrutiny by the papazzari and their personal lives will be digged up in every single possible way ever. 90% of the artists in the market are NOT talented in any way. They just have good marketers to “promote” them to the masses.

I do enjoy listening to songs by some of the “artists” in the market. However, they have to be exceptionally talented to grab my attention. One of my idols is Gackt. He can play up to 10 instruments including the piano, guitar and drums. He has a great voice and he sings with his heart. He also has killer looks to die for (ahhhh!). To put it basically, he has the total package and he is not just a Human Product, he is a real artist.

I think an ordinary person can’t differentiate what is talent because everyone is getting brainwashed by the media’s perception of what is “in” and “out”. Real talent tend to be forgotten like everything else that is real. Everyone is just into the superficial “image” so when they see someone who is pretty they think she is a nice girl (yea right).

Next time you by a cd off the shelves, think again. Are you buying it because of the “image” or are you buying it cause it is done by a talented person you admire? 90% of the existing artists don’t meet my criteria because they don’t have a fantastic voice or compose their own music and i don’t feel their souls in their music.

Isn’t it a pretty confusing world we live in?
