The roaring sound of thunder.
\nDipping droplets of rain.
\nAnother night awake again.<\/p>\n

Is there no one I can trust? There is only looking forward now.<\/em><\/p>\n

The caverns.
\nThe oasis.
\nThe sinkhole.<\/p>\n

Again and again the scenes revisit me.
\nTormenting me. Seducing me, to go under….
\nand never come out.<\/p>\n

The real world is unreal
\nThe only reality left
\nIs in my dreams <\/em><\/p>\n

We are both on the dance floor
\nIn the discotheque
\nNeon lights – heart pounding beats
\nYour whiskey breath – your wild smile
\nYour board shoulders – your big hands<\/p>\n

We are dancing to bachata
\nA close contact dance – swaying slowly
\nKiss. Fumez. C’est la vie.<\/p>\n

Tears. Thunder. Rain.
\nWaves. Cascading. Down.<\/p>\n

A swirling whirlpool
\nTakes me down again
\nInto that familiar place<\/p>\n

It’s like dying all over again.<\/p>\n

3am<\/strong><\/p>\n

The time we left the club, and kissed at the pier.<\/p>\n

That night and many nights after
\nMy memories became frozen
\nAt that very same spot
\nUnable to move
\nPast the memory
\nOf where you left<\/p>\n

You never said good bye
\nOr offered those closures
\nTo the roads you opened<\/p>\n

It is happening again and again
\nLike a loop that replays itself
\nLike a movie reel that is set on repeat
\nLike a song that only has a chorus<\/p>\n

Suspended in time and space<\/strong><\/p>\n

We were lovers in that space
\nFor the rest of eternity
